The ceremony was attended by Arthur Aw and Christian Halberg from SEEDoE; Chris Lee and Bolam Lee from Serie Architects; Paul Hack, Stuart St John, Michael Allen and Duane Kostrzewski from contractor Guildprime; quantity surveyor Tim Pearce; John Gerrard and Eleonora Regni from Webb Yates Engineers; Dheran Bhutia from Mendick Waring; and Shami Smith Sandhu and Malika Alimzhanova from Semper Fire Engineering.
Stephanie, Kit, Zey and Ken, four of the live-in guardians of 4 Woodberry who have stayed at the house for more than three years, were also invited to the event.
At the ceremony, Revd Henry spoke about the mustard seed from Matthew 13:31 where it, being one of the smallest of seeds, grows to become a tree so large that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches. In a similar way, he hopes that Cedaroe Mansion, when completed, will become a sanctuary for residents to settle in and call home.
The ceremony closed with a shared meal at The Naturalist, where conversations continued around the hopes and vision for Cedaroe Mansion a future home rooted in community, nature, and thoughtful design.
