Located in a promising corner of Wimbledon, London — near the upcoming Wimbledon Place development and 247 The Broadway — the site had remained derelict for over five years.
During the planning process, SEEDoE activated the space in collaboration with Lowe Guardians and The Koppel Project, creating temporary housing for four live-in guardians and introducing a new art gallery for emerging local artists.
The approved scheme is an Art-Deco architectural design which draws on the prevalent style in the Wimbledon area and features a scalloped grid façade and curved corners in shades of terracotta. Nine exclusive apartments, each featuring its own flexible PLUS space, will have generous double balconies hemmed by fine metal railings and planters providing privacy.
Future residents will also enjoy a shared lounge and landscaped communal garden. A ground-floor commercial unit will add vibrancy and connection to the surrounding street life.
This marks another step forward in SEEDoE’s mission to uncover hidden site potential in often-overlooked spaces — transforming them into places that achieve beauty through spatial harmony and homes that nurture neighbourly bonds and social connection.
